Frequently Asked Question
How far in advance do I need to book my wedding flowers?
At Jumping Jonquils we take a limited number of weddings each weekend, so we recommend starting your wedding flower enquiries 6-12 months before your wedding, especially during peak wedding season (November-March). For weekday weddings and small bridal party only flowers, we can accommodate enquiries between 1-3 months before your wedding.
Can I order my wedding flowers online, or should I come instore for a wedding consultation?
We are happy to answer initial enquiries via email, but if you live in Melbourne or surrounds and would like to organise a wedding flower quote we recommend that you book a time to come into the store for a consultation. This way you can see our unique floral styling, peruse our wedding albums and chat about your vision for your special day.
If you are organising your wedding from overseas or interstate, we can provide you with a detailed quote via email. To do this accurately we will need detailed descriptions of bridal party numbers, wedding theme, colours and preferred flowers (if known), and pictures to illustrate the style you prefer.
What should I bring to a consultation?
For a detailed wedding quote, we will need basic information about your wedding- bridal party numbers, wedding theme/ colour scheme, and details of your venue/dresses. You can also bring pictures of bouquets you like, to show us your inspiration for your wedding flowers, and then you can leave the rest up to us to create a quote that captures all of your ideas and turns them into the wedding flowers of your dreams!
What if I change my mind on certain things after I have booked my flowers?
We understand that things can change in the time after you book your wedding flowers, and are happy to accommodate changes up to one month before the wedding. After that we need to lock the quote in so we can order your flowers.
Do you offer wedding packages?
At Jumping Jonquils we take the view that every wedding is unique and individual, so we prefer to tailor-make a quote for each bride we meet, based on your vision for your wedding day. Therefore we currently do not offer generic wedding packages, as we think it is more important for such a special event to let the personalities of the bride and groom shine through.
How much do wedding flowers cost?
The price of wedding flowers will vary depending on seasonal availability, size and style of bouquets, number of bouquets and the inclusion of reception flowers, cake flowers, church flowers and other decorations or hire items.
As a general guide, brides’ bouquets start from $150.00 for a round posy style, or $200.00 for a trailing bouquet. Bridesmaids are roughly a little over half the price of the bride’s bouquet (around $80-100 each) and buttonholes for groomsmen start from $10.00 each. Flower-girl baskets of petals or small posies start from $35.00, and cake flowers start from $40.00.
Reception flowers are by consultation, but if you are thinking of including flowers for your ceremony and reception, you are looking at a budget of $1200+ including the bridal party flowers.
